The Walking Dead is the most popular cable series of all time. A horror and a thriller about a post-apocalyptic world over run by zombies taking place in Atlanta, Georgia. It is based off a comic book series by the same name. The series centers on a former police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). Who is both torn and strong, as he attempts to do all that is within his power to protect and lead his group of survivors in a very treacherous world.
10. Rick’s Speech
The Governor wants to take over the prison and wants revenge for Woodbury. He decides to use Hershel and Michonne as bargaining chips to try to persuade Rick and the rest of the group to leave the prison in order to save the lives of Hershel, Michonne, and themselves. He stands behind the gates with the two and his big tank as he threatens Rick. Rick attempts to plead and negotiate with The Governor but he refuses as he is relentless in his pursuit. Rick offers to even share the Prison with The Governor and his group, an admirable suggestion, but of course the self-centered narcissistic Governor refuses. Rick then speaks to all his people in hopes that they will leave The Governor and join him. Rick attempts to appeal to everyone’s emotions by telling them that we are not too far from the people we used to be.

9. The Governor vs. Michonne
Here we see a softer side of Michonne (at least for a moment) when she finds The Governor’s daughter Penny. Michonne hears Penny making noise and she opens the door to Penny’s chamber and finds that she is covered with a straightjacket. Michonne pulls the jacket off of Penny to find that she is in fact a walker. The Governor then finds himself on the scene and begs Michonne to have mercy on his daughter, and that she does not need to suffer. Michonne is perplexed and responds quickly and says that Penny has no needs. Michonne no longer compassionate takes her katana straight through Penny’s skull. The Governor seeing his daughter “killed” lunges at Michonne in a fit of rage, and as they struggle Michonne takes a piece of glass from the shattered fish tank and stabs The Governor in his eye.
Season 3 Episode 8 –“ Made to Suffer”
8. Maggie Almost Gets Raped
In this episode Glenn and Maggie are captured by Merle and The Governor to be interrogated. We are all aware of The Governor’s sociopathic nature, and what he has in store for Glenn and Maggie is far from conventional. Maggie ends up being the lucky one to have The Governor be her personal interrogator. The audience can feel the intensity and anticipation from the screen as The Governor stares Maggie down he demands that she take off her shirt and bra as a means of intimidation. He then proceeds to bend her over as if he is going to rape her, but then he doesn’t. And if you are a comic book reader you know The Governor has no qualms against rape, but here they decide to spare the television viewers the trauma of watching Maggie get raped, thank god.
Season 3 Episode 7– “When the Dead Come Knocking”
7. Rick the Zombie
In this scene Carl, Michonne, and Rick are ambushed by the leader of The Claimers, Joe. Joe points a gun at Rick’s temple and tells him that today is the day of reckoning and restitution for killing his friend. Daryl suddenly appears and pleads with Joe that Rick, Michonne, and Carl are good people, but Joe rejects his claims. The rest of Joe’s men proceed to beat Daryl senseless as another man pulls Carl out of truck with a knife to his neck. Joe announces arrogantly that first they will beat Daryl to death, and then they will have their way with Michonne and then Carl, and yes he plans to rape them. Obviously Rick is not going to allow this to take place he finds a way to get the upper hand on Joe, and as they wrestle a bit Rick literally goes zombie on Joe and rips out his throat with his bare teeth.
Season 4 Episode 16 – “A”
6. Sophia’s Death
We as the audience and as the surviving group spend this entire season looking for Sophia, Carol’s daughter. We all hoped with held breaths that poor defenseless Sophia was not dead, not a zombie, but only missing and waiting to be found. In the last episode of Season 2 the group finds a barn full of walkers, and as they shoot each one in the head the barn goes silent, and despite our hope we see Sophia walk out of the barn ever slowly with obvious signs that she had become a flesh-eating zombie. Rick did what we all know he had to do, as Carol watched.
Season 2 Episode 7 – “ Pretty Much Dead Already”
5. Terminus Cattle
Sometimes we forget that there forces far more dangerous than the walkers, and this scene it becomes clear that the dwellers of Terminus are infinitely more vile and wicked than any creepy zombie. In this scene we see Rick, Glenn, Bob, and Daryl and a few other men hunched over like pigs over a trough waiting to have their jugular slit. Emotions and fear begin to intensify at the sound of flesh being cut and blood being split from
each man before them takes their turn to be slaughtered. Just seconds before they bash Glen’s head in Gareth appears to question Rick. As the title of the episode indicates there is indeed No Sanctuary.
Season 5 Episode 1 – “ No Sanctuary”
Daryl had to make the hard decision to choose between his brother and the group, and as we know he chose the group. While Merle chose The Governor. After Daryl had been estranged from his brother for so long to finally discover that he is actually still alive to only then realize that his own brother Merle had become a walker, Daryl was devastated. He then stabs Merle the zombie repeatedly as tears of anguish flood his face.
Season 3 Episode 15 – “This Sorrowful Life”
3. Shane’s Death
Shane was becoming more and more of a menace as time went on.We all knew eventually it was going to come to this. Shane decides that he must kill Rick for the sake of the group’s survival, and of course so he could remove Rick as an obstacle towards Lori’s affection. Shane lures Rick into the woods and as the conversation between the two goes on it becomes apparent to Rick that Shane is indeed intending to kill him. This was no easy decision for Rick, but he had no other alternative but to kill the man who had been his best friend since high school. He then stabs Shane in the gut while blubbering to him, “You did this to us! This is you, not me!”
Season 2 Episode 12 – “Better Angels”
2. Carol Kills Lizzie
Carol and Tyreese find themselves in a difficult dilemma when they realize it was Lizzie who was feeding mice to the walkers, but it gets better when it turns out Lizzie is a much bigger risk when they find out that Lizzie stabbed her younger sister Mika. Tyreese and Carol come to a grim understanding that Lizzie is completely far gone. They both agree that Lizzie is a threat to the living, and could not survive on her own leaving them with no other choice but to kill a child! Carol then takes Lizzie for a walk, and Lizzie soon recognizes that Carol maybe upset with her so she apologizes profusely for holding Carol at gunpoint. As Carol whimpers she tells Lizzie just look at the flowers, and then shoots her in the back of the head.
Season 4 Episode 14 – “The Grove”
1. Man’s Gotta Eat
Yesterday’s episode of The Walking Dead presented us with one of the most disturbing and traumatic scenes as of yet. Bob is in the woods grieving over what life has now become, and before you know it the boys from Terminus snatch him. His next conscience moment is waking up to Gareth (Andrew J. West) explaining to him that his intention wasn’t to hurt him or his group. It’s just that he was hungry. As Bob watches Gareth take a bite out of his now charred-crispy leg. Gareth tries to alleviate Bob’s fear and resentment by telling him that he tastes far better than anticipated.
